What is an Understand My Health™ Visit?
Understand My Health™ is a physician-led educational and health-information interpretation service. It provides dedicated time to help individuals better understand medical information they already have, including diagnoses, test or imaging reports, medical terminology, medication information and treatment information previously provided to them.
The service does not replace primary care, specialist care or emergency care and is not intended to provide diagnosis, treatment, prescribing or privately paid access to publicly insured medical services. Where clinical assessment, diagnosis or treatment is required, clients are directed to an appropriate healthcare provider or service.
The program is currently operating as a limited pilot. Availability depends on the participating physician's licensing, the client's location and whether the requested service is appropriate for the program.
